How it all got started…

Hi there, my name is Kim

Growing up, I felt like I was meant for more. I loved glamour, princesses (I went as one every Halloween for years), costume jewelry and anything that had to do with acting all fancy or dressing up.

I was bougie before it became mainstream 😂

Knowing this you can probably guess that as a kid living in rural Pennsylvania, I was at odds with my surroundings. My pursuit of “more” was about exploring the world—beyond the drive from home to school—and embracing the glamour of the old Hollywood starlets I looked up to.

This pursuit led me to getting a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design where I first discovered my passion for wine. Mind you, I had been drinking $3 bottles of Chardonnay from the grocery store because it made me feel fancy, but when I took a Wine 101 class a whole world of true sophistication and possibility opened up before me.

I became obsessed with the topic and how elegant I felt knowing a thing or two about wine, so while working as a designer post-grad I started tasting whatever I could get my hands on and passed the Wine & Spirits Education Trust (WSET) Level 3 sommelier exam in 2019. As I learned more, my wine confidence grew and I began sharing it with friends and family in small group tastings. I also started working part time helping people shop for wine at one of the top wine shops in Washington, DC: Calvert Woodley Fine Wine & Spirits. Wine was something that made me feel “more” so I pursued it in my free time, but that all changed when I lost my design job in May 2020 as a result of the pandemic.

When my former career came to a screeching halt, I decided to go all-in with wine. It was scary, but I was honestly ready for a change, and I saw it as my chance to start something that helps people uplevel their wine game and access a world of adventure and sophistication—and that’s when I started Together With Wine!

Together With Wine is a wine education and experience company that uplevels your wine game in the most fun, un-snobby and bougie-on-a-budget way. I offer a Wine 101+ Course that helps you go from clueless to confident about wine and jumpstart your #winelife, a DIY Wine Tasting Kit so you can host awesome wine nights with your friends and custom in-person and virtual tastings with all the luxe vibes so you can learn experience wine with your friends.

When it comes down to it, the reason I’m so passionate about wine education is because it brought the “more” I was searching for into my life. It opened the door to more joy, adventure, travel, sophistication and incredible experiences that only a wine hobby can bring.
